POLICE REPORTS
August
19: An officer assisted a motorist whose vehicle had run
out of gas on the freeway and was blocking a lane of travel.
Traffic control was provided until the driver returned with
fuel.
August 19: Officer responded to a neighbor dispute in the
300 block of Clark Street. Officer found two ex-neighbors
arguing over removing property from an apartment before
rent was paid. The house key was returned and the ex-renter
left the area. The dispute was deemed to be civil.
August 18: An officer was advised by a citizen that his
neighbors dog was causing a noise disturbance in the
300 block of Clark Street by barking constantly. Officer
made contact with the owner and she advised that she would
monitor the dogs more and contain the problem.
August 18: A citizen reported a transient sleeping in the
field next to the library. While passing the transient,
he began yelling at her and her children. Officer contacted
the transient and warned him about trespassing.
August 17: A citizen reported a box with graffiti on it
being dropped off by a person driving a van in the 700 block
of H Street. The van occupants then took photographs of
the box before leaving. The box was a composite box that
was left at the community garden.
August 16: A resident in the 700 block of C Street phoned
police because their neighbors dog barks every morning.
Officers contacted the dog owner who apologized and said
they would keep the dog quiet. They were warned that a citation
would be issued next time.
August 16: Officer investigated a report of a missing person.
Officer located the person at her residence in the 4000
block of H Street within two hours of taking the report.
She was unharmed and had been out shopping.
August 16: A merchant in the 1700 block of Bell Street complained
about a juvenile who was batting rocks toward a business.
A Blaine officer contacted the juveniles parents and
advised them of the complaint. They said their son will
aim at other targets.
August 16: Officer assisted WCSO by taking a perimeter position
during a search for a subject who had fled the area on foot
in the 8000 block of Birch Bay Drive. The subject was apprehended
by a canine unit. After assisting with the arrest, officer
left the area.
August 16: Blaine officers contacted an adult at a party
house in the 4400 block of Sweet Road and advised him of
the neighbors noise complaint. The radio was turned
down.
August 15: Officers were asked to check the southbound lanes
of I-5 for a piece of wood in the lane of travel. Officers
checked the area and found nothing.
August 15: Officers were dispatched to a man pouring gasoline
on people and making threats in the 300 block of Alder Street.
Officers contacted the subject who admitted to pouring gas
on people. The man was arrested and booked into WCSO jail
and charged with two charges of attempted murder and one
charge of first degree arson.
August 15: An officer responded to a report that some children
were playing with a down power line in the 900 block of
H Street. The officer located a group of children who denied
playing with the cable TV lines located next to a pole.
The children were warned.
August 15: An inn manger in the 300 block of Alder Street
reported two men who were disturbing a tenant who was a
recent victim of a crime. Officers identified the men and
they left the area without further incident.
August 14: A boat trailer license plate was found on the
ground near the public boat launch. The plate was turned
into the police department for safe keeping.
August 14: A blue mountain bicycle was found abandoned in
the alleyway near the Blaine Manor Apartments in the 700
block of H Street. The bicycle was impounded for safekeeping.
August 14: Officer responded to a verbal domestic in progress
in the 1700 block of Peace Portal Drive. While en route
the parties drove away. Both parties had suspended drivers
licenses. Officer stopped the car and contacted the driver
who was arrested and released for DWLS/R.
August 14: Officer was advised of a vehicle that had been
abandoned in the 200 block of Clark Street and was also
parked over a city water meter. Officer left a message for
the owner to move the vehicle within 24 hours.
August 14: Officer observed a transient sleeping on the
sidewalk in the 200 block of 3rd Street. Officer warned
subject about sleeping in public and advised him to move
on. Subject complied.
August 14: Officer observed a suspicious looking male watching
a business close in the 200 block of Peace Portal Drive.
Subject was identified as a transient who was sleeping under
the overpass. He was warned and advised to move on. He complied..
