Mary Arrington, born April 20, 1934 in Mount Vernon, WA to Murray and Alice Starr, peacefully passed away on July 2, at 80 years of age.

Mary grew up in Van Zandt with her parents until her father’s death when she was 10 years old. Growing up surrounded by her extended family, Mary graduated from Bellingham High School, attended Brigham Young University, and graduated from Western Washington State College.

Mary and Robert Taylor were married in 1955 and were blessed with 4 children in their 25 years of marriage. She worked for
the Whatcom County Library and was known as the ‘bookmobile lady’ in the 1980s and 90s. Mary and Howard Arrington were married in 2000 in the Bellevue, WA Temple of the Church of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed 14 very happy years together.

Mary was a loving, adventurous, and exuberant woman who loved life and lived it to its fullest. She made countless friends over the years who will miss her smile and her laughter. She was an incredibly talented quilt artist and a member of the Evergreen Quilters Guild. She loved to travel and learn about new places and people. She was also a great hostess who welcomed everyone into her home for many celebrations. Most of all she loved her family who, in their turn, loved her very much and will miss her every day.

Mary is survived by her husband, Howard, her children Bob (Christine), Murray (Sandra), David, and Melanie (Jeffrey), grandchildren Rachel (Michael), Jonathan, Robin, Nathaniel, and Jacob, and her great-grandchild, Maddox.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 2550 Thornton Rd., Ferndale WA.
