Wayne F. McGee (age 82) passed away in the early morning hours of New Year's Day 2014. Wayne was born at home in Marysville, WA on February 4, 1931 to Floyd and Adelle McGee. He was a graduate of Blaine High School and entered the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War. Wayne loved the sea and was a longtime commercial fisherman in Alaska and Washington waters.

He loved attending sporting events and was an avid Seahawks fan and was known locally for his famous smoked salmon. Wayne had many great personal qualities and will be remembered for his enthusiasm for dancing and helping others and bringing great joy to all.

He leaves a growing family of stepchildren, numerous grandchildren; a special  grandson that Wayne helped raise - Kyle, serving in the US Air Force (Afghanistan); great grandchildren, beloved nieces, nephews, special nephew Gordon (Debbie) Earl; brothers Gary (Nancy) and Dennis McGee, grand and great grandnieces and nephews. Wayne is preceded in death by his sisters Gayle, Beryl, Faye, Gyla and his grandniece Heather Earl.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 12 at 1:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post #86 in Blaine. Please bring your stories to share, and pictures too, because family and friends meant everything to Wayne. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Wayne’s name to Good Samaritan-Stafholt nursing home, Blaine. The Stafholt family was his loving home the last few years and is family too!
