 Christopher James Sandell, age 57, of Blaine , WA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the family home.
   Chris was born April 20, 1956 in Tacoma, WA to Charles and Mary Sandell. He was the fifth of nine children.
Chris met his wife Betsy in 1979 and they were married in February of 1980.  They moved to Blaine in November 1989 where 
they raised their five wonderful children.
   Chris began his career in the freight forwarding business in the mid 70's working in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Los Angeles before moving back to the Seattle area. He and Betsy opened the local Transgroup Worldwide Logistics Station in Blaine in the early 90's and passed their knowledge of the industry onto their children who are all a part of the business today.
   Chris is survived by his wife Betsy, sons Billy (Sharon Guzman), Chuck (Kassandra George), Brian (Destiny Garvin) and daughters Jessica (Josh Kilgore) and Mackenzie (Rudy Peralez). He was the proud Papa of eight grandchildren, Savannah, Belen, Brietta, Lyah, Carson, Gavin, Irelynn and Kaiden who brought him great joy and happiness.  Chris is also survived by his mother Mary Sandell of Bonney Lake, WA, brothers Chuck, Kenn, Vernon and Bill and sisters Linda (Ronayne), Joanne (Hazelton), Janice (McCallie) and Cathy (Kontorowicz), and brother in law Jim Leathley as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  
   Chris will be remembered for his generous spirit, quick wit and loyalty to his family and friends.  
A visitation and Rosary will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Jerns Funeral Chapel in Blaine, WA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday Nov. 16, 2013 from 11 a.m. - noon at St. Anne Catholic Church in Blaine, with a graveside service following at Hillsdale Cemetery in Blaine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Blaine Food Bank and the Blaine Family Service Center.
