Frances “Fran” Elizabeth Johnson (nee Halligan), age 62, passed away suddenly on June 12, 2013 at Peace Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA.
Fran was born on March 5, 1951 to Frank and Nan Halligan and grew up in Nelson, BC. After graduating from L.V. Rogers Secondary School in 1969, she moved to Vancouver, BC where she attended the University of British Columbia. She met her husband of 33 years, David Johnson, in 1978. They were married in 1980 and started their family in Point Roberts, WA before relocating to Blaine, WA in 1990.
Fran lived for her family. She was an incredible and loving mom and adored her granddaughters. Fran was known for being an avid reader, a fantastic cook (her macaroni and cheese was a family favorite), an expert thrift shopper, and a formidable opponent at every board game she tried her hand at.
Fran was preceded in death by her father, Frank, who died in December 2005. She is survived by her mother, Nan; her brother, Ian (Caroline); her husband, David; her children, Diane (Sebastian) and Danielle; and her grandchildren, Jane and Jacqueline. She will be deeply, deeply missed.

The family invites friends and family to celebrate Fran’s life on Friday, June 28 at 3 p.m. at Jerns Funeral Chapel, 800 East Sunset Drive, Bellingham, WA 98225. All are encouraged to wear Fran’s favorite color, baby blue. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County, 1407 Commercial Street, Bellingham, WA 98225.
