William A. “Bill” Burgstahler, age 89 passed away in Bellingham, WA on July 11, 2011. He was born November 25, 1921 in Blaine.
Bill served proudly in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII and was a lifelong member of the Disabled American Veterans. He worked throughout his life for the state of Washington, and in his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and traveling.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Burgstahler and Bertha Elise (Duffy) Franchi and wives, Thelma and Evelyn. He is survived by his daughter Janice Poage of Edmonds, sister Iris Berry of Fresno, CA, nephews Christopher Berry of Bellingham and Jeffrey Berry of Elizabeth City, NC, niece Katrina Ashlock of Visalia, CA, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and life-long special friend Shirley Hall of Marysville.
A graveside service was held July 18, 2011 at Sultan Cemetery.
