The Blaine school district board of directors has named Joan Lotze to fill the open district 3 director seat left vacant by Susan Holmes’ departure in April.
Lotze is a long-term resident of the Blaine school district, and has experience teaching both locally and internationally. The board recognized Lotze’s teaching experience as being of significant value to the present and future work of the board.
“She’ll be a strong addition to the board,” superintendent Ron Spanjer said. “It’s great to have the position filled.”
Lotze will take the oath of office at the school board’s next meeting Monday, June 23. The director district 3 position will be placed on the ballot and open to all interested residents of the district in November 2015.
