Blaine Primary School will be offering a parenting class called “1-2-3 Magic” on Saturday, May 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

1-2-3 Magic is a parenting class focusing on parenting children ages 2 to 12.

“By means of three easy-to-follow steps, parents learn to manage troublesome behavior, encourage good behavior and strengthen the parent-child relationship – avoiding the “Talk–persuade–argue–yell–hit” syndrome that frustrates so many parents.

Ten strategies for building a child’s self-esteem and the six types of testing and manipulation a parent can expect from the child will be discussed, as well as tips on how to encourage kids to do their homework, get ready for bed, do simple normal chores and get themselves up and out in the morning.

This program encourages mothers and fathers to become warm and firm parents who set clear expectations and who know how to enjoy and encourage their children.

Childcare and lunch will be provided. The class is being offered at no charge and is open to all parents.

Preregistration is required. To register, contact Jessie Burton at Blaine School District at 360/332-0740 or jburton@blainesd.org.
