Larry and Carrie Beck dressed up their Ferndale driveway by implementing a compass rose into its design.

As avid boaters, the Becks have a great love for the outdoors and often rely on a compass for navigation. The driveway was
designed and created by the Becks, with Larry fabricating and welding the steel frame and directional letters, which were then hot-dip galvanized to inhibit rusting. They also mixed and poured the concrete themselves.

The outer circle is a tinted brown, with the compass rose alternating black and light grey and has an exposed aggregate finish.

Carrie said the layout of the compass rose is directionally correct. Once the weather stabilizes, the entire driveway will be cleaned and sealed for color enhancement and preservation.
