The holidays are just around the corner and audiences of all ages are making plans to experience the holiday tradition of attending The Nutcracker.

The Nutcracker is Northwest Ballet Theater’s gift to the community and is a full-length unabridged rendition based on the original choreography of Maurice Petipa and Lev Ivanov which premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia on December 18, 1892.

With multiple performances each season, young girls and boys can dream of one day being snowflakes, soldiers, flowers, an Arabian princess or even Clara or the Nutcracker. As Northwest Ballet Academy students and members of the company grow and improve, The Nutcracker provides a magical experience to  audiences each year and continuing its tradition from one generation to the next.

Enjoy this holiday treat with all of your family and friends with a performance at Mount Baker Theatre on Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 pm. and a matinee performance on Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m.
