The Community Assistance Program partnered with Northwest Fire and Rescue (NWFRS), local churches and members of the community on November 20 to provide Thanksgiving baskets for families in need.
Boxes were sorted according to the size of the family, with some boxes feeding 15 to 20 people. Volunteers then distributed the food to families in need. Woods Coffee donated coffee and cider for families to drink while they were waiting in line.
The group was able to serve 1,857 people with full Thanksgiving meals with all the fixings – much of which was donated by local companies.
