On Saturday, December 7 North Whatcom Fire and Rescue (NWFRS) will be working with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office “Project Santa” to collect donations that will benefit nearly 300 local children.

NWFRS firefighters and fire trucks will escort Santa through parts of the district to collect donations. NWFRS encourages community members to bring their family and take pictures with Santa while he’s in town. In order to stay on schedule, they have reduced the number of stops from previous years and ask that you gather at one of the stops in your neighborhood, or go to the Birch Bay-Lynden Road Station #63 between noon and 12:30 p.m. to donate.

Safety is a concern during the event, so Santa’s visitors are requested to gather by the signs in order to keep children from running out to meet the fire trucks.

If you wish to donate to Project Santa, please keep the following guidelines in mind: The district wishes to collect new toys, coats, clothing and books for children and food donations must be nonperishable and unexpired.

Cash donations are also accepted and donated to Project Santa.

Unfortunately, NWFRS cannot accept used items.
