A day in the park: Join the Whatcom Council on Aging’s (WCOA) Senior Nutrition Program on August 7 for their 15th annual Senior Day in the Park at Hovander Homestead Park in Ferndale. The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature a barbeque lunch, live music, more than 40 informational vendors, door prizes and more. The suggested donation is $5.
Senior Lunches: The WCOA Senior Nutrition Program provides nutritionally balanced house-prepared senior lunches year-round at the Blaine and Point Roberts senior centers. Join old and new friends for lunch between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Blaine Senior Center, located at 763 G Street. A donation of $5 is suggested for ages 60+, but all seniors are welcome to eat regardless of their contribution. Visitors 60 and under are welcome to eat for a cost of $6.
Dine at home: Home delivered “Meals on Wheels” are also available for homebound seniors throughout Whatcom County.
