Art abounds at international art festival

More than 65 artists from the Northwest region and Canada showed their work at the juried show on June 22. Organized by the Blaine Artists’ group, the show displayed work from all disciplines.

Oil paintings by Jennifer Bowman displayed during the event. 

A man views mixed media work by Oakland, California artist Fortune Sitole that depicts South African townships using aluminum, wood, sand and paint on plywood. 

Arlene Kahaner, r., looks at ceramics work by Bellingham artist, Larry Richmond. Richmond's work is comprised of wheel-thrown pottery, which is then hand carved with designs. With some designs, he adds a textural element by hand weaving basket work directly onto the pots.
