Those caring at home for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other memory impairments are invited to participate in a live web chat to learn practical methods for handling difficult dementia-related behaviors.

Emeritus Senior Living vice president Kelly Scott, who oversees all of the organization’s daily Alzheimer’s programming, and Emeritus Memory Care training specialist Diana Engle will demonstrate techniques for managing a range of challenging situations and answer questions from the public.

Topics to be covered include tactics to reduce wandering and other forms of agitation, responding to and reducing aggression, handling inappropriate sexual-related behavior, overcoming resistance to eating and bathing, handling continence issues and communicating when your loved one no longer knows who you are.

The chat will be held Tuesday, June 18 at 11 a.m. To take part, register at bit.ly/18tkxDY up to 15 minutes prior to the scheduled event time.

Questions may be submitted during the live chat or in advance by emailing live.chat@emeritus.com.
