County auditor Debbie Adelstein has a set a special three-day filing period for two open ballot positions on the Northwest Parks and Recreation District 2 (NWPRD2) Board of Commissioners. Those interested in serving on the parks board are should apply for the positions from Tuesday, May 28 to Thursday, May 30.
The 5-member board meets once a month to discuss and guide policy for the district which incorporates Blaine and Birch Bay. The unpaid commissioners also regularly help out and get involved in NWPRD2 events.
According to county auditor Debbie Adelstein, a 3-day special filing period is held whenever positions remain empty during the regular filing week. Blaine and Birch Bay residents with U.S. citizenship are eligible to apply.
Declarations of candidacy can be filed online at whatcomcounty.us/auditor and by mail or in person from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Whatcom county auditor’s office, 311 Grand Avenue, Suite 103, Bellingham.
