Stremler Gravel, under contract with the City of Blaine, will be closing H Street as part of the completion of the H Street Revitalization project that began last summer. The closure is necessary to finish paving as quickly as possible.

The road will be closed to all vehicle traffic for two days beginning on Tuesday, May 7 and will include 4th Street to the Interstate 5 overpass east of Harrison Street; however, there will be intermittent intersection closures when the contractor paves the side streets. Detour routes will be in place.

Accommodations will be made for pedestrians, however extreme caution through the construction site is recommended.

The revitalization project included new sidewalk and street amenities, street trees and turn of the century street lighting fixtures. Following the final paving, the road will be re-striped for angle parking on one side.  All businesses will remain open during construction.

The project was designed by RH2 Engineering of Bellingham and is being constructed by Stremler Gravel of Lynden.

The project is funded by a federal grant with matching funds from the Transportation Improvement Board and the city of Blaine.
