Ken Rider, l., and Harold Haynes from Ketchikan, Alaska prepare for departure from Blaine on the boat formerly known as the “Farewell.” Haynes bought the boat and will be sailing it home.

Gary Renspurger preps squid to use as crab bait to bait his crab pots. He and crabbing partner Phil Palmby headed out for a late run on January 22. “It’s slow right now,” Renspurger said. “The crabs are 
molting and all holed away.”
