The Blaine High School/Middle School Combined Drama Club will perform an original musical play titled “Hatter of Oz” on January 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. in the Blaine Performing Arts Center (PAC).
The play uses the fanciful characters from Lewis Carroll and L. Frank Baum’s classic tales to tell a story of two young people facing the effects of cancer with courage and hope.
Admission is free, but donations are highly encouraged. Proceeds from donations will go to support Blaine School Theater Arts, with a large portion being donated to the American Cancer Research Organization to find a cure for cancer.
Audience members are encouraged to write the name of a friend or family member who is battling or has battled with cancer on a provided leaf to add to the “Trees of Life” in the PAC foyer.
Artwork for the performance was created by BHS students under the direction of Shari Akers and Brandon Glanzer. Parental guidance for children under second grade is recommended solely because of serious subject matter.
