The first community forum for the Whatcom County Futures: Toward a Sustainable Economy project gave residents a chance to suggest ideas to support the vision for the area’s long term future.
Dozens of community members attended the forum, held at Blaine High School on Tuesday evening, September 25. Attendees were presented with a vision “discussion draft” that included topics such as implementing work that supports Whatcom County’s economy, fostering economic growth as the foundation of a sustainable Whatcom County and ensuring all people living in Whatcom County have opportunities to thrive.
Three other community forums are scheduled, including the last one from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, October 4 at the Lynden Library. For more info, or to download a copy of the vision statement, visit http://nwecon.org/whatcom-futures-project
