Two juveniles charged with burglary in Birch Bay

Whatcom County Sheriff Bill Elfo has issued a press release today announcing that two 14-year-old boys were arrested on August 23 for a burglary that took place on June 27. The boys broke into the Bay Center Market on Harborview Road and stole cigarettes. Both juveniles live in the Birch Bay area. One was booked into the county juvenile detention center on a charge of burglary in the 2nd degree. The other was already held at the center on other charges; the burglary charge will be added.

The sheriffs office continues to investigate a string of thefts over the past two months and asks that anyone with information to call the sheriffs office.
