The Birch Bay Village Golf Course will once again host Blaine and Birch Bay youth between the ages of 8 and 16 who want to learn the basics of golf this summer.
The annual Junior Golf Camp will run August 20, 21 and 22, from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Area pro Joe Holdridge will lead the camp, which will cover all aspects of the game, from driving and putting to rules and etiquette.
“We had a good time last year,” Holdridge said, with about 15 children participating. Holdridge is hoping for a few more this year, but space is limited.
“I’d like to get some kids together to play golf,” he said, noting that when children sign up with a friend, they seem to get more involved.
Cost for the three-day camp is $50, which includes a BBQ hot dog lunch each day, equipment, games, prizes and on-course play. Contact Holdridge at 360/371-2026 or joepro007@hotmail.com to sign up.
