How much did the pirate charge for ear piercing?

A buck an ear, of course!

We can’t say there will be any ear piercing at the 2012 Drayton Harbor Days, but there will be plenty of fun and games for adventure-seeking pirates both young and old. The two-day celebration will run Saturday and Sunday, August 4 and 5, with all events centering around the Blaine Harbor Boating Center.

Drayton Harbor Days offers a weekend of maritime fun – tour the tall ship Hawaiian Chieftain, take a Plover ferry ride or compete in the Prestigious George Raft race. There will also be a variety of vendors, live music, games and crafts and a pirate costume contest.

New to this year’s festivities are model steam boat races, held throughout the day on Saturday at the boating center. Children will be able to race model steamboats that run using actual steam.

Sunday will feature a children’s scavenger hunt from 1 to 5 p.m. Clues and directions can be picked up the same day at the Blaine Chamber of Commerce information booth.
