The Ace Hardware store in the Blaine International Shopping Center will reopen early next week under new ownership.

The store will now be a part of the Whatcom Farmers Co-Op (WFC), which has operated in Whatcom County for more than 27 years.

The store will stock traditional Ace Hardware products, sporting goods, and lawn and garden tools. Over time, the merchandise will be customized according to requests from customers, manager Ken Rose said.

The store will sell some of the bigger farm-related items WFC usually carries, but due to limited space may not stock them in the store. Such items will be just a short order away, Rose said.

Rose said WFC has wanted to expand into Blaine for a while, and he is happy the opportunity presented itself.
“We really want to be Blaine’s hardware store,” Rose said.

Ace Hardware is located at 1733 H Street. For more information, call 360/255-7206 or visit wfcoop.com.
