Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials have announced two NEXUS-related improvements for the Pacific Highway and Sumas border crossings.

The NEXUS lane into the U.S. at the Pacific Highway crossing, also known as the truck route, is now open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m, seven days a week. The lane was previously open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

CBP will also be opening up a new NEXUS-only lane for travelers entering the U.S. at the Sumas crossing. Starting May 25, the lane will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

NEXUS membership, which is valid for five years, is designed for low-risk, pre-approved travelers who frequent the U.S./Canadian border crossings.

The NEXUS application fee is $50, and there is no fee for applicants younger than 18. For additional information on the NEXUS program and for border wait times, visit www.cbp.gov.
