At the Blaine Senior Center, we’re enjoying every minute of May. It is special, each day is special, so remember to celebrate each and every day in May. We started the month with a tremendous rummage sale that was enjoyed by crowds of people.

Come join us for many more activities at the center, including painting, handcrafts, exercise and computer skills.

Friday, May 18: Bingo at 12:30 p.m. (Donated prizes are welcome.)

Friday, May 18: Basic computer skills including how to use email, 10 a.m. Presented by Computer Doctor. $7.

Saturday, May 19: Pancake breakfast, 8 to 11 a.m. Pancakes, waffles, biscuits and gravy, sausage, eggs, orange juice and coffee will be served. Adults $6, children $4.

Monday, May 21: Blaine Senior Center Board Meeting, 10 a.m. Open general board meeting and announcement of election results, 11 a.m.

Wednesday, May 23: Self Defense for Seniors, 10 a.m. Free.

Where were you born? Put yourself on the map – for a week in advance there will be a map on the bulletin board where you can indicate your name and birthplace. Find out where we all come from – at noon we will share with others about our birthplaces!

Monday, May 28: Closed for Memorial Day

Thursday, May 31: Ferndale Heritage Society Tour. Carpool at 12:30 p.m. or meet at Pioneer Park at 1 p.m. Pioneer Park was created from four acres of uncut Western Red Cedar trees purchased by the Whatcom Old Settlers Association in 1901. The Old Settlers Association has gradually moved the slab cedar houses built in the late 1800s to the park from their original sites. $5 donation fee.
