The owner of a nationwide wood refinishing chain has opened an office in Blaine to serve northwest Washington.

Gleam Guard founder Tracey Booth and his wife Amrit decided to open a branch in Whatcom County after visiting last year. Booth, who started the company in 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has previously established offices in Missouri, North Dakota, Seattle and British Columbia.

Gleam Guard restores kitchen cabinets and other types of interior woodwork without sanding or the use of toxic strippers. For more information, free evaluations or demonstrations, call Gleam Guard at 360/483-0025 or visit www.gleamguard.com.
