A countywide emergency response preparedness group has announced two upcoming classes designed to teach skills useful in a disaster situation.
Two Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes will be held next month, starting April 11 and 12. The classes run multiple weeks and are open to anyone who wants to gain knowledge on how to help themselves, their family and others in a disaster situation. Each class will include a full-scale disaster simulation exercise.
The first class starts on April 11 and will run Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Sudden Valley Fire Department for seven weeks, with once class per week. To register, contact Erica Work at 360/220-2994.
The second class starts April 12 and will run Thursdays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Bellingham Technical College for eight weeks, with one class per week. To register, contact Monica Valandani at 360/752-8447.
