The Blaine Senior Activity Center is celebrating some very special March events. Don’t miss out on the many opportunities for fellowship, food and fun. Join the crowd for lunch, served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Thursday, March 8, noon:
Travels with Hesselgrave – Julie Burton from Hesselgrave International will inform us about trips and opportunities that the company has to offer.
Friday, March 9, noon:
Senior Steppers – This dynamic dance group from the Bellingham Senior Center is a joy to watch!
Saturday, March 10, 2 to 4 p.m.:
Bingo – Come win cash and prizes. For your $20 admission you can play eight games of three cards each game with refreshments included. $15 to purchase an extra book. This event is open to all. You must be 18 years or older to play.
Thursday, March 15, noon:
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration – Come celebrate with Up in the Air Irish music, fiddle and guitar. Wear green and win prizes.
Saturday March 17, 8 to 11 a.m.:
Pancake Breakfast – Have a great breakfast with us. Pancakes, waffle, biscuit and gravy or French toast, scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and OJ. Adults $6, children $4.
Tuesday, March 20, noon:
Meals on Wheels Fact or Fiction – Carol Simmer will present a talk about the Meals on Wheels Program that takes daily hot meals to folks who need it around the county.
Thursday, March 22, noon:
Blaine Elementary School Choir – Join us for lunch and enjoy this charming school choir with grades three to five.
Wednesday, March 28, 10 to 11 a.m.:
Self Defense for Seniors – Free! Bob Stephenson returns to teach new or returning students. Learn escape methods and blocks, and use everyday objects for self defense. Brought to you by Northwest Park & Recreation District 2. This class will run on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Thursday, March 29, noon:
Classic country and gospel music, guitar and vocals. Birthday lunch entertainment. Come enjoy Matt Audette’s engaging style of singing and guitar.
Tuesday, April 3:
Strength training classes begin – Meets Tuesdays and Thursdays for eight weeks, 2 or 3 p.m. $60 class fee. Preregistration, membership at the Blaine Senior Center and a medical release may be required. Come by the center to sign up, get the proper medical release forms and to pay for your class. We are now accepting Visa or MasterCard. You must be a current member to sign up.
Saturday, April 14, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
Blaine Senior Center Rummage Sale – Items to donate to the sale can be brought to the center Monday, April 9, through Thursday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Help support our local Blaine Senior Center, which provides countless activities and services for those over 50. All electrical items in working order please, no large appliances or clothing – we have limited space!
Sunday, May 6, 1 to 3 p.m.: May Spring High Tea with excellent tea and goodies, live music, silent auction, door prizes and more. Have handsome gents wait on you while you visit with your friends. Individual tickets are available for $15. Vote for your favorite table – the winner gets a prize! Proceeds will benefit the Blaine Senior Center.
