The Blaine girls’ basketball home game against the Bellingham Red Raiders next Thursday will also feature an annual event designed to raise money for cancer research.
The January 26 matchup will also be the 2012 “Coaches vs. Cancer” basketball game for the Borderties. The event will feature a special introduction of two high school staff members, one from Blaine, one from Bellingham, who are cancer survivors.
During halftime, Blaine athletic director Wayne Vezzetti and athletic coordinator Steve Miller will host a free-throw-shooting contest open to anyone. A donation of $1 is the entry fee into the contest.
