Last year was highlighted by the Tenth Annual Jazz Camp and Festival. In every way it exceeded expectations. The reviews by students, faculty, and audience members were more enthusiastic than ever before.

Our board of directors stepped forward with creative ideas and backed them up with hard work. Kristi Galbraith, president, gave outstanding leadership. Our donors were more generous than ever, helping us to survive in these difficult economic times.

Sponsorships by real estate agent Kathy Stauffer and Conoco-Phillips enabled us to maintain the high quality of our concerts.  Eight concerts were free and by donation this year, and the receipts increased. The generosity of the Blaine school district and Blaine City Council made the whole thing possible.

Our 19 professional performer/teachers led by Ted DeCorso and Martin Kuuskmann outdid themselves for audiences and 75 students. One student summed it up: “I cannot say enough how much this week has meant to me. Everything I have learned has helped me improve beyond what I thought possible.”

We hope to bring the same quality program to Blaine in 2012.
