
Former Blaine city council member David White died October 15 after a brief illness. He was 64 years old.
White entered the hospital on September 12 suffering from chronic pneumonia. The cause of death was attributed to lymphoma.
A Blaine resident since 1983, White ran successfully in two elections and served eight years in total on city council. He was first elected in 1992. White also served as a volunteer firefighter. Known for his fiery opinions, White was a frequent contributor to the letters to the editor column in The Northern Light.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years Isadora (Christine) Yung, children Tiphanie Fowles, Natalie White, Robin White and granddaughter Ryenne Fowles. The funeral service took place October 19 at St. Anne Catholic Church.
