During the month of October, donations of new and gently used games will help support the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington’s school-based mentoring program.

Launching Success Learning Store, a locally owned Bellingham business, is sponsoring the game drive.

The Big Brothers and Big Sisters participating in the mentoring program spend an hour every week at their little brother or sister’s school playing games, shooting hoops or helping with homework.

“Having enough games at the schools for our School Buddies program makes all the difference in the quality of the relationships between our Bigs and our Littles,” said Bliss Goldstein, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington. “It also helps us expand the program into other schools so we can serve more of our children.”

Games can be donated between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday from October 3 through 29 at Launching Success at 133 Prince Avenue in Bellingham. Anyone who is donating a game may purchase a new game at the store for 10 percent off.
