A Blaine man was seriously injured on Saturday, April 23, following a single car collision on Interstate 5.
Jonathan Vander Yacht, 26, was driving southbound on I-5 when he lost control of his 1993 Mitsubishi sedan and struck a tree in the median near Birch Bay-Lynden Road at about 1:15 p.m.
State troopers listed the suspected cause of the accident as driving under the influence and traveling at a high rate of speed. He faces possible DUI charges.
He was in satisfactory condition at St. Joseph hospital as of Wednesday.
