The Whatcom County Marine Resources Committee’s Shore Stewards program is offering a free guidebook and DVD on shoreline living to Whatcom County residents when they join.

The guides were created by Washington State University marine educators and offer simple guidelines for keeping beaches and bays clean. By joining Shore Stewards, residents will also receive a newsletter and notices about upcoming marine related events.

Those who own shoreline property or enjoy sailing, kayaking or crabbing are encouraged to join, as well as those who can smell or see Puget Sound from their home.

To sign up, visit http://shorestewards.wsu.edu/whatcom/index.html and click “JOIN US” or call Cheryl Lovato Niles at 360/671-2016.
