Washington State Patrol responded to a semi truck accident that closed both northbound lanes of I-5 for about two hours near mile marker 272 last Thursday.

State Trooper Ray Ensley said the accident happened at about 2:45 Thursday morning when a semi traveling northbound left the highway on the left side and tipped over.

No injuries were reported, and the state patrol does not suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.

The driver involved, Juan C De La Cruz Alva, allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, according to the state patrol. Charges against De La Cruz Alva are pending.
