The Boys & Girls Club of Blaine is offering inexpensive tutoring for students in grades first through eighth either before or after school. The sessions are conducted in a one-on-one format once or twice a week for 30 to 45 minutes per session. The charge for tutoring is $3 for one session or $5 for two sessions, or a donation to the Blaine Boys & Girls Club.

The volunteer tutors are retired teachers, each of whom has years of classroom teaching experience. Every effort is made to match the needs of the student with the strengths of the tutor. The club operates this program simply to serve the students of the Blaine community, and the fees charged go toward covering the cost of materials.

Parents who think their child may benefit from this service can call Tony Clark, branch director, at 332-3008, and he will arrange a meeting with one of the tutors to answer questions.
