Lynden Choral Society is hosting two concerts to raise money for a 4-year-old Blaine girl with leukemia.

The group will be performing the Christmas portion of Handel’s Messiah and will also be accompanied by the Skagit County-based Starry Night Chamber Orchestra.

Proceeds will benefit Jessica Walters, of Blaine, who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a particularly dangerous cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal increase in white blood cells.

The concerts are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, December 3 and 3 p.m. Saturday, December 4 at First Christian Reformed Church on Front Street in Lynden.
