Blaine City Council has appointed three new members to the Blaine planning commission.
During their regularly scheduled meeting Monday, councilors voted to approve Bryan Dixon (7-0), Vernon Tabb (5-2) and Leonard Rivero (4-3) to the city’s planning commission.
Rivero is a former real estate broker and modular home developer who studied real estate law at the University of British Columbia as part of his real estate training.
Tabb is a retired records manager of the Denver International Airport and has a bachelor of science degree in business administration and marketing as well as a bachelor of science degree with emphases in accounting and civil engineering.
Dixon, who was the only candidate to be approved unanimously, is a former superintendent and business manager for the Hope school district in Santa Barbara, California.
He has a master of arts degree in school administration and has served on the Semiahmoo architectural standards committee, the Semiahmoo Resort Association and the American Red Cross.
