The Semiahmoo Tennis Association has scheduled a charity tennis tournament and auction on Saturday, August 14 to benefit the local non-profit, Project Education, Inc.

Women’s doubles will take place in the morning followed by lunch, with the men’s and mixed doubles in the afternoon.

During the lunch, which is included in the fee, a presentation will be made by the charity’s founders Debra Akre, Jeana King and Andy Clay.

Project Education, Inc. has successfully started a secondary school in the improverished village of Ngamano in Eastern Kenya. A variety of Kenyan products, of which many are hand-made by the villagers, will be available for sale during the day.

After the tournament there will be a reception with a raffle and live auction at the home of Greg Breakell and Sheila Say.

Auction items include a week’s stay in a condo in Puerto Vallarta, a day of sailing, massages and car detailing.

The entry fee for the tournament is a $30 minimum donation per player, and raffle tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10.
