For the second time in less than a year, Dakota Creek Winery has had one of their wines rated at 90 points by Wine Spectator magazine.

In the current issue of the magazine, the Dakota Creek 2007 Firefighter Red Blend is described by Wine Spectator as “Bright, vibrant and generous with its vivid cherry, blackberry and chocolate flavors, finishing with a lively balance that lets the fruit sing.”

Dakota Creek wines are available at select local restaurants, grocery stores and wine shops. They can also be purchased directly from the winery at 3575 Haynie Rd., about three miles east of Blaine. The winery is open Thurs - Sat from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. They are on the web at www.dakotacreekwinery.com

This is the fifth Dakota Creek wine rated by Wine Spectator since they started making wine in 2005. Last fall, Wine Spectator also rated Dakota Creek’s 2007 Syrah at 90 points.  Other ratings were: 2005 Firefighter Red 86 points, 2006 Merlot 87 points, and the 2006 Syrah 88 points.
