Music lovers won’t want to miss the Pacific Arts Association’s upcoming concert featuring the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra.

PAA board member Suzanne Conrad said the concert is a mix of “marriage and mystery” in honor of Mother’s Day, May 9.

The concert is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, the night before Mother's Day.

The program will include a march (Sousa), a marriage (Mozart), and a mystery (The Composer is Dead – A Lemony Snicket story – complete with narrator Doug Zwick).

Conrad said the mix also includes “a little Beethoven, Briggs, Sibelius, and Cole Porter.”

“It will be a terrific evening of music and entertainment,” Conrad said. “It should offer something for all ages.”

The Whatcom Symphony Orchestra, lead by Roger Briggs, is the resident orchestra at Bellingham's historic Mount Baker Theatre. Most concerts draw an average of 1,300 people and often sell out the theater’s capacity of 1,500.
