Whatcom County Safe Kids is a partnership of local private, non-profit and voluntary organizations that are working to prevent unintentional injuries and death from a variety of hazards to children from birth to 14 years of age. The event will include a variety of activities and tips on water and bicycle safety and as well as free child passenger seat inspections.

County officials say there have been at least four accidental deaths this spring in Western Washington involving small children being run over by family members in their own driveway.
