Birch Bay Chamber of Commerce will be celebrate the expansion of two local businesses with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday, March 12 at Beach Basket Yarns & Gifts at 7620 Birch Bay Drive. The event will then move to Bay Cafe around 3:15 to celebrate their recent expansion.

Chamber president Lisa Guthrie said Beach Basket Yarns & Gifts has doubled their shop size with a move next door.

Meanwhile, Bay Café has opened a partition wall for additional seating suitable for meetings, clubs and more space inside when it’s raining.
