The Blaine school board has scheduled the first of two staff and community forums specific to 2010-11 budget development on March 8.

The forum is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the Blaine School District Board Room with the purpose of sharing information specific to projected program revenue deficits. The final numbers will be dependent upon the budget ultimately established by the Washington state legislature.

Blaine superintendent Ron Spanjer said during the forums board members will also surface feedback from those in attendance specific to preliminary implications for three levels of across the board reductions to programs. A second meeting is scheduled for April 12.

The information collected at these forums will be taken into consideration by the board as 2010-11 budget priorities are established.
