As part of their Lenten mission, youth at St. Anne’s Parish in Blaine are hosting a food and supply collection from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 19, and from noon to 4 p.m. February, 20 at Blaine Cost Cutter and The Market at Birch Bay Square.
Supplies donated during the event will be used to send care packages to troops in Kandahar, Afghanistan. One of the troops is Captain John DeRoule, of Blaine. He is the son of John and Frances DeRoule, of Blaine. Frances has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and is undergoing surgery and treatment since February 1.
The youth will host a final collection from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 25 at St. Anne’s Parish.
