A group of local residents have scheduled the second annual “Blaine Storming” meeting, designed to encourage residents to voice their ideas on how to build a stronger community in Blaine.
The event is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, at the Blaine Library, and will be facilitated by Blaine resident Ron Snyder.
Snyder said the first meeting took place almost two years ago and produced more than 150 ideas from the community. When the ideas were consolidated, Snyder said most people said they wanted more waterfront activities, art programs, a gardener’s market and a composting center. They also liked the idea of more activities for youth and seniors.
Since then, programs and activities have been developed in nearly each category, ranging from new youth and adult sailboat races to the addition of the Blaine Gardener’s Market, the Blaine Community Sailing school and the Mother’s Day Art Studio Tour.
