7:20am - Premier and Governor Gregoire arrive, they have a quick pre-brief to the side of the main tent to review the program with the event MC


7:30am - Event MC goes to stage, welcomes guest and provides a brief outline as to the mornings proceedings

7:32am - MC introduces Bill James of the Semiahmoo

7:33am - Semiahmoo Bill James spokesperson speaks 1 min

7:34am - Semiahmoo Singing of Coast Salish National Anthem – 2 mins

7:36am - Semiahmoo Traditional Welcome  - Chief Willard Cook – 2 mins

7:40am - Semiahmoo introduce the fire keepers ceremony
NOTE: during this introduction Premier, Governor Gregoire, Chief and Elders move down to beside the stage, where the First Nations Torch Bearer will be running to – to await the arrival of the first nations torch bearer

7:44am - Rayne Williams the First Nations Torch Bearer leaves from the top of the park and runs to the position beside the stage for the fire keepers ceremony
NOTE: media move into position to capture the fire keepers ceremony.  Event MC fills time if needed

7:47am - Fire Keepers Ceremony, witnesses by Premier Campbell and Governor Gregoire and Semiahmoo Chief

7:52am - First Nations Torch Bearer lights US Torch Bearer Phil Mahre’s Torch and Phil Mahre runs   past the US/Canada Marker into the US

7:53am - Premier, Governor Gregoire and Canadian Torch Bearer Chamila Anthonypillai move to the middle of the Peace Arch for the arrival of the US Torch Bearer


7:51am - US Torch Bearer arrives to the Peace Arch
NOTE: Premier, Governor, US Torch Bearer, Canadian Torch Bearer all pause for a photo op underneath the arches

7:53am - Premier and group move to stage and light the cauldron on stage

7:54am - US and Canadian Choir sings US Anthem – 3 mins

7:57am - US and Canadian Choir sings O Canada – 3 mins


8:00am - MC Intros Premier – Premier speaks 3 mins
NOTE: the Premier at the end of his remarks and introduces the Governor

8:03am - Governor speaks 3 mins

8:08am - MC intro VANOC CEO – Furlong speaks 3 mins
