Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers to help with working events during the next few weeks to help with the completion of their latest Blaine project.

The first is a blitz build, or rapid construction of the exterior of their third home in Blaine at 1964 Bayview Avenue.
Project director Terry Mattson said Habitat is looking for volunteers for this Thursday and Friday. Volunteers with experience in framing walls and floors and setting trusses are encouraged but all volunteers are welcome to participate.

“All we really need are volunteers with a willingness to help out,” he said. “We will have professional supervisors at the site to teach, instruct and assist.”

The second event, a work party on Saturday, September 26, has been filled but Mattson said individuals are welcome to visit the site for a tour of the project and that more work parties are expected in the next few weeks.
Mattson said they will also be looking for business sponsors and contractors who are looking to donate services.
