The tall ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain have scheduled a return visit to Blaine the afternoon of Tuesday, July 28. The ships will offer public tours and four public sailings during their seven-day stay.

Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain also face off in two battle sails, which feature booming cannon and close-quarters maneuvers.

The three-hour battle sails are scheduled for 2 p.m. August 1 and 2, during Plover Days waterfront celebration.

The five-pound black powder cannons which the ships use will also announce their arrival, and can be heard all over town.

The ships will open for tours beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday through Saturday and again the following Monday on the week that they are here.

A family adventure sail is set for Sunday morning, August 1, at 10 a.m.
